Travel Well: Simple Food Habits That Keep Me Feeling My Best

I’ve learned over time that how I travel can completely shape how I feel. Whether it’s a ski trip, a hiking getaway, or a few days of sightseeing in a new city, the difference between feeling energized and grounded versus tired and off usually comes down to a few small habits.

For me, the biggest one is always the same: I bring my own food.

It sounds simple, but it makes all the difference.

No matter where I’m going, I always pack a variety of our Haley’s Pantry single-serve packs in every flavour. They’ve become my go-to for airplane snacks especially since it’s so hard to find clean, satisfying options at the airport, but they’re just as essential once I arrive. I’ll throw a few in my bag for a day on the slopes, tuck them into a backpack for a hike, or keep one on hand for that late afternoon moment when you need something nourishing but light.

They’re easy, reliable, and keep me from having to overthink it.

Another habit I swear by is making a quick stop at a grocery store — usually Whole Foods soon after I land. I’ll pick up simple staples like single-serve yogurt or cottage cheese, fresh berries, and flax. I always travel with a few larger bags of our granola (usually the OG or one of the nut butter flavours), so within minutes, I have everything I need for an easy, balanced breakfast.

It’s simple, but it sets the tone for the entire day.

Instead of navigating a buffet or sitting down to a heavy breakfast, I can build something that feels familiar and energizing. It takes the guesswork out of mornings and helps me start the day feeling my best....no matter where I am.

Travel doesn’t have to mean stepping away from everything that makes you feel good. For me, it’s about keeping a few small anchors in place and food is one of the most important ones.

With a little bit of planning, you can feel just as good on the road as you do at home.

Xo,
Haley
