Decadent Chocolate Truffles
These decadent chocolate truffles are rich, dark, and deeply chocolatey, yet surprisingly easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients, you will have a luxurious treat that feels indulgent but takes only minutes to prepare. They are perfect after dinner, for entertaining, or whenever a chocolate craving hits. Store them in the fridge and enjoy them for days—if they last that long.
Ingredients
-
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1/4 cup milk of choice (unsweetened vanilla almond milk works well, but any milk will do)
-
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
-
Dark chocolate, for coating
Optional coatings and add-ins:
-
Chopped nuts
-
Powdered sugar
-
Peanut butter powder
-
Finely shredded coconut
-
Cinnamon sugar
-
Matcha powder
-
Ground coffee or espresso powder
Tip: For a fun variety, coat different truffles in different toppings so you have a mixed assortment of flavours.
Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, add the cocoa powder and make a well in the centre.
-
Pour in the milk and maple syrup or honey. Mix well with a fork until a thick, smooth dough forms.
-
Place the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the chilled mixture into small balls (you should get about 16 truffles) and place them on the baking sheet.
-
Melt the dark chocolate using a double boiler or in the microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth.
-
Let the chocolate cool slightly, then dip or coat each truffle until fully covered.
-
Return the truffles to the refrigerator to set, then transfer them to an airtight container.
Storage
Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
